Meet Birdie

Hi, my name is Birdie and I’m a 21-year-old Blue & Gold Macaw. When I’m not working at Coastal Pet Cremation with my human, Camille, I like to hangout by the pool and dance to music on my perch. I can say a lot but usually prefer to blow kisses. I love playing peekaboo and getting preened. My favorite treats are almonds and my mom’s special nutty bars she makes me from scratch. I enjoy being with people if my owner is near.

Birdie does a lot to comfort clients, his beauty and color are incredibly beautiful to look at. Birdie became an unofficial staff member shortly after he was adopted on December 19th, 2019 from the Parrot Outreach Society. Camille, his owner, has helped him fit into the Charlotte Community by introducing Birdie as our therapy Parrot.

Birdie loves interacting with people one-on-one or in small groups, especially when there are treats involved. He is quick to play peekaboo.
